  • Jessica Hooberman, MPH

    CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

    Jessica has 26 years' experience in the non-profit sector.  She has expertise in grant writing, coalition development, capacity building, program design, budget development, and program evaluation. She holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Michigan and a BA in English and Women’s Studies. Jessica co-founded HCC with Aaron Eads in 2008; prior to that she worked for the Chicago Department of Public Health, Boys & Girls Clubs, Kalamazoo County Human Services Department, and Hudson Planning Group. 

  • Aaron Eads, MUPP

    CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

    Aaron has 16 years' experience as a grant writer.  He has wide range of experience that includes urban planning, evaluation, lab research, housing & development, and marketing. He holds a Master of Urban Planning & Policy degree from the University of Illinois (Chicago) and a BA in Philosophy. Aaron co-founded HCC with Jessica Hooberman in 2008; prior to that he worked for the New York City Department of City Planning and the Regional Transportation Authority. 

  • Alisha Nash, MSW

    PROJECT ASSOCIATE

    Alisha Nash is an accomplished professional with nearly 20 years’ experience in the behavioral health and non-profit industries. She began her career as a crisis counselor for survivors of interpersonal violence in Raleigh, North Carolina. After receiving her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010, Alisha shifted her professional focus to grant writing for non-profit organizations across the spectrum of behavioral health services. Specializing in securing public funding, she has crafted winning proposals totaling $20 million in the last three years alone. Alisha is committed to fostering efficiency and sustainability in every project she undertakes, providing tailored solutions to address the unique challenges facing non-profit leaders in the current funding landscape. 

  • Tom Stevenson, MPH

    PROJECT ASSOCIATE

    Tom Stevenson comes to Healthy Communities Consulting with a 15-year record of success in winning federal, corporate, and foundation funding for nonprofit organizations at the state and local levels. With his expertise in strategic prospect research, writing compelling proposal language, strategic program planning, and data collection and analysis, Tom has written more than $20M in winning grants for non-profit health and human service agencies. He has extensive experience working with diverse community organizations including Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans, Odyssey House Louisiana, Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse for Greater New Orleans, Youth Empowerment Project, Center Point, Inc. in San Rafael, CA, and other award-winning nonprofit organizations. He has a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing from Loyola University and a Master of Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and currently resides in New Orleans, LA.
